The Build training pathway focuses on technology and provides the foundational knowledge necessary to build a fully online course in the Canvas learning management system (LMS). Starting with a basic knowledge of Canvas tools, you will receive how-to's and best practices to build a high-quality, engaging course with pedagogy in mind.  

Build - Pathway Learning Outcomes

By the end of this pathway, you'll be able to:

  1. Import the ½­ÄÏÌåÓý State Online Template to create a consistent experience for students.
  2. Organize the course navigation to include only the items relevant to your course.
  3. Design a homepage that welcomes students and provides the information they need to get started in your course.
  4. Update the syllabus section to include course-specific documents and information.
  5. Design engaging online lectures that contribute to student achievement.
  6. Create Modules and Pages that logically present your course learning materials.
  7. Build assessments (assignments, discussions, quizzes) and any accompanying rubrics.   

Get Started!

Getting started is as easy as 1, 2, 3!

  1. Explore the courses below and select the ones (s) that interest you.
  2. After you select a course, you will be re-directed to Canvas, our Learning Management System (LMS), where you will be prompted to log in using your FlashLine credentials.
  3. Next, choose Enroll in Course, and you will be added to the Canvas course. You can begin to participate immediately or return later from your Canvas Dashboard.
