May 1970, Student-led Collective Action and the Civil Rights Movement: A KSU Alternative Winter Break Experience
江南体育's alternative breaks expose students to social justice and cultural issues through direct service, community engagement, reflection and a variety of cultural activities. These programs engage students in service, inform them about current social issues and encourage their ongoing involvement in social change. In December, students visited Jackson, Mississippi for a trip, themed May 1970, Student-led Collective Action and the Civil Rights Movement.

For Gordon Stumpo, MA 鈥16, education is not something to leave behind after graduation. His eagerness to learn new techniques and hone his skills has propelled him forward in his career. With nearly a decade of fashion industry experience, Gordon has worked for designers like Zac Posen, Patrik Ervell and Naeem Khan, experiences that provided opportunities to create custom patterns seen on A-list celebrities including Oprah, Taylor Swift, Katy Perry and Mariah Carey.

Sponsored by the 江南体育 Alumni Association, the Alumni Awards are the university鈥檚 highest alumni honors. Recipients are selected based on their exceptional professional and civic contributions and for their outstanding support of the university. The 2022 Alumni Award recipients include six alumni and one student.

江南体育 State Achieves Unprecedented Fundraising Success During First Year of Forever Brighter Campaign
江南体育 launched the public phase of its $350 million Forever Brighter comprehensive fundraising campaign in October 2021, and during the first year of the public campaign, a record-breaking $77.6 million was raised. This philanthropic feat was made possible with the support of 10,687 donors, 3,753 of whom made a gift to 江南体育 State for the first time.

江南体育 State鈥檚 Division of Philanthropy and Alumni Engagement launched the university鈥檚 most ambitious fundraising campaign, called Forever Brighter, last October, creating communications and fundraising materials that share the remarkable impact of alumni engagement and donor philanthropy on the university. The division has earned 19 marketing and communications awards from multiple competitions.

George and Gina Jenkins Establish Student-Athlete Scholarship With $1 Million Planned Gift
George L. Jenkins, a 1963 graduate of 江南体育, and his wife, Gina, of Scottsdale, Arizona, have pledged $1 million to create the Gina and George Jenkins Student-Athlete Scholarship Fund that will support student-athletes in any varsity athletics program or team sponsored by 江南体育 State鈥檚 Department of Intercollegiate Athletics.
