In 2006, Betty Sutton became the first 江南体育 State alumna to serve in the U.S. Congress, when she was elected to represent Ohio鈥檚 13th District in the House of Representatives. Sixteen years later, 江南体育 State alumna Emilia Sykes, a native of Akron, Ohio, was elected to represent the same district, making her the first Black 江南体育 State alum to serve in the House of Representatives.
