Geneva campus β€” acceptable to use when referring to ½­ΔΟΜεΣύ State’s facility in Geneva, Switzerland. Note the lowercase for campus.

Giving Tuesday β€” use this form with a space between the words.

Golden Flashes β€” the official name of the ½­ΔΟΜεΣύ State athletic teams, both men’s and women’s teams. For subsequent references, Flashes is acceptable. Lady Flashes is unacceptable. In nonsporting content, a student is a Golden Flash; as a group, we are the Golden Flashes community.

GPA β€” acceptable in all references as grade-point average. GPA should be set in all caps without periods. Express all GPAs as the schools and colleges submit them (e.g., 2.0, 2.00).

GPS β€” use Graduation Planning System on first reference.

healthcare β€” use this form in medical contexts and for programs and course names in the College of Architecture and Environmental Design).

Helpdesk β€” use this form.

Honors College β€” always capitalize honors when referring to the ½­ΔΟΜεΣύ college; however, use lowercase when referring to honors courses or honors students.

Honors Week β€” always capitalize when referring to the ½­ΔΟΜεΣύ event; no apostrophe.

Hub β€” use this form (note: not in all caps) for the ½­ΔΟΜεΣύ Student Center Hub and the Design Innovation (DI) Hub.

in-residence β€” hyphenate such constructions as professional-in-residences, poet-in-residence, ensemble-in-residence, etc., when used as a noun or adjective.

Intercollegiate Athletics β€” the official nickname of all teams that represent ½­ΔΟΜεΣύ State intercollegiate athletes in varsity competition is the β€œGolden Flashes.” The official mascot of ½­ΔΟΜεΣύ State’s Department of Intercollegiate Athletics is the golden eagle. The logos, nicknames and caricature of the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics are for the use of ½­ΔΟΜεΣύ State athletics only. Special permission to use the athletics logos, nicknames and caricature by internal university entities may be granted by contacting Intercollegiate Athletics at 330-672-5974. Requests by external entities for trademark licensing of ½­ΔΟΜεΣύ State athletic imagery should be directed to the licensing coordinator, Office of General Counsel, at 330-672-2982.
